Too many contacts

Just a click away;

Heavy bank balance

To live the pompous life

With all thrill and gay;

Friend list running in thousands

Posts flooding with likes

Plastering smiles on faces

Where’s the spark gone off from eyes?

Trading our weeks

For an 48 hour weekend…

Eyes dreaming for sleep

Sleep haunting of dreams unkempt;

Fingers swirling through screen

Reality jetted out

Camouflaged by virtual

Lives divided in realms of login and log out;

Too many to hangout

Very few to be with;

Too many to speak

The eyes wanders for those

Who are ready to listen;

Ain’t something gravely wrong

Placid generation why all seem so lost;

Mental apathy

Hearts lacking empathy

Midst the too much we possess

Asked someone what do you want

Browsing through the list of things owned

Quitening the chaos

Each heart screamed aloud;

In whispered voice

The soul blurted out only one…
